There are so many bones, joints, ligaments and tendons in your feet and ankles. Remember, the feet are our firm foundation! To keep all those moving parts strong and stable, there are a few things we can work into our regular day without spending more time in the gym.

How many bones make up the ankle? The tibia, fibula, and talus is three. The previous post showed the bones of the foot with all it’s 33 joints, but moving up the chair, we have three bones. 

2024-starting from the feet up!

Happy New Year! In 2024, we have decided to work through the body from the feet up to the head. We will spend one week on anatomy and physiology, one week on stability, one week on strength, and one week on mobility for each body part. This is a detailed breakdown so that you have a deeper understanding of how each body part functions alone and as a whole and how you might, strengthen, stabilize or mobilize each joint/muscle group/section. We are starting with the feet. Did you know, there are 33 joints in our feet alone? This does not include ankles!

12 Days of Christmas: Exercise Edition

This workout is modeled after the classic holiday song “The 12 Days of Christmas.” The workout is meant to be done in the same order as the song, meaning you will add an exercise to each round until you complete all 12 exercises in your final round. It will look like this: Round 1: 20 second Plank Round 2: 2 Burpees —> 20 second plank Round 3: 3 Walking Lunges —> 2 Burpees —> 20 second plank You get the idea!
